Discovering Japan: Ibaraki (2)

Welcome back to part 2. Now, where did we leave off?

Parks & Shrines

Ibaraki, like most of Japan, has a wide number of parks and shrines that are gorgeous to visit. Of course, I will not miss out on Hitachi Seaside Park that is incredibly famous and gorgeous during the spring season.

In October, it is filled with the beautiful vibrant red colors.

By Mito, there is also Kairakuen and Howaen garden that are both gorgoeous.

A top one on my list is, Oarai Isosaki Shrine. I’ve never been, but I’ve always wanted to go. Wait for me while I get my driver’s license here in Japan (I know, I have been procrastinating for ages now). I imagine the place to be just as the pictured depict.

Needless to say, there are a ton of parks around the whole prefecture that is worth visiting.

Oh, and I mentioned shrines didn’t I?

Waterfalls

As fall is coming soon, one of the popular destinations to visit for autumn foliage is Hananuki Gorge.

Another rather popular site to visit all year round Fukuroda Falls. Regardless of the foliage colors, it is a well known travel attraction here in Ibaraki.

Cultural Sites

I know, I did not expect this either. As you know, Japan has a ton of shrines that are both beautiful and serene.

Ibaraki is not gonna be left out of this equation.

Introducing Rokkakudo.

It’s like one of those painting from ancient times. The red structure against the white minimalist background of the ocean waves.

I think this attraction site is not known to many yet.

As previously mentioned, Ibaraki has a lot of shrines which also serve as a historical and cultural landmark here.
